![]() 7/0 Hook with shiners is what most people use. Now that was only 8 catches in 3 hours of peak time, if you concider how many pike you catch in the same time floating with shiners then it shows how ineffective the lures really are here for pike. The only thing that have some moderate success for me is the big #6/0 spinner. Popper 4/0 : 2 catches ( lots of miss hits ) ![]() I did some more testing during another peak time: ( Almost exactly the same as EzFishLure's setup, just a different reel ) The problem is they don't bite on lures. The problem is not the gear, I have strong gear. ![]() If going for pike you dont need to cast far so this is an ok setup :D especialy combined with a kyak :D Ok copy that, will give it a try.Originalmente postado por darrren:i use cosmocast and a cyclone55 is to strong for any of the rods atm i use it with 0.6 floro and can use drag 5 safly hope this helps Just an old man who has been fishing a long time. Just keep in mind What you are trying to mimic. How you mimic that animal isn't important. When you fish with lures, any lure, you are trying to mimic live animals. Think of a injured minnow in the y to make you lure behave as if it were that minnow. Reel them so they run on the surface or just below the surface. Spoons you can use all different ways, bounce them off the bottom, stop and go. What you want to do is make the crank bait act like a dying minnow. Reel a few feet let the crankbait come back to the top, reel a few more feet and repeat. as you go to the right, all the places you can fish from, cast a 3 foot crankbait in to the reeds or lily pads. Save some money and buy only 1 of each lure. #1 color makes no difference in anything.
